Learn about A.A.
There is no “test” that determines whether or not a person is an alcoholic.
There are many symptoms that may indicate alcoholism. Our widespread experience is that the drinker realizes that they can no longer control their drinking and wants to find out how to do something about it. At this point, many decide to seek help.
If you are feeling this way, here are three ways to contact AA:
1. Call our local AA Hotline: (610) 882-0558
This line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your call will be answered by a recovering alcoholic from the Lehigh Valley who will be happy to listen to you, answer any questions and share their experience, strength and hope with you about how AA is helping them live a happy and healthy life without alcohol.
2. Go to a Meeting
To find a meeting near you click “FIND A MEETING” on the top menu. The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no fees to pay, no “pledges” to take, no papers to sign. If you’d like, you can just sit and listen. What you will find in AA meetings are other people with drinking problems who have not only found a way to stay sober, but to have a better life than was ever possible while drinking.
3. Send us an Email
Click “CONTACT US” on the top menu to send us an email message. Someone will respond, though response times will vary. For the fastest response call our Hotline: (610) 882-0558.
Please note: If you are experiencing a severe physical or psychological condition that requires medical attention, please contact a physician or medical institution immediately, or call 911.
